This Just In...

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you had a safe and happy holiday season. It's time for me to get back to work and I'm starting off the new year right with a presentation and the final episode of the Everyone's Gone to the Moon podcast.

First, the podcast. The final episode of the Everyone's Gone to the Moon podcast has posted complete with the complete clips heard in the episode. Episode 5 takes a look at the aftermath of Apollo 11 - budget cutbacks and the effect on contractors and NASA employees with some classic 1969 pop culture thrown in.

You can download or listen to the episode and all previous episodes on many popular podcast sites or on my own webpage complete with full clips used in the episode.

And I will have my first presentation about Everyone's Gone to the Moon on Saturday, January 13th, at the Pensters Writing Group meeting. The Pensters are a great group of local authors and writers who love to share their stories. The meetings are open to all aspiring writers, published writers, and enthusiastic readers from 10am to noon at the
Fairhope Museum of History, 24 N. Section Street, Fairhope, AL. I hope to see you there!

Until next time...

Coming Soon...

Stay tuned for details.

New Podcast Episode Posted

Episode 3 of my companion podcast to the book, Everyone's Gone to the Moon, has dropped. You can find it on your favorite podcast site, Buzzsprout, or on the official podcast website which also has additional reference videos. This episode takes a brief look at a few of the music genres that were present in July 1969. Bubble Gum music was still going strong thanks in part to a little help from a popular TV cartoon show, plus the world was introduced to two new forms of music - Punk Rock with the arrival of the band The Stooges led by Iggy Pop, and Glam Rock which was personified by David Bowie and the release of what would (eventually) become a #1. Episode note: The second time Bowie's Space Oddity was released, it reached #15 in the U.S., not #5 as heard in the episode.

Next Signing This Saturday

If you are in the Fairhope, Alabama, area - or the Alabama Gulf Coast in general - come on out to my next signing of Everyone's Gone to the Moon this Saturday at Page & Palette, 32 S. Section St., Fairhope, AL. I'll be signing copies from 1 to 3pm. Hope to see you there!
